WEDA Names New Executive Director

       

Wyoming Economic Development Association has named Sara DiRienzo as its new executive director. In this role, Sara will represent economic development members and organizations from around the state to expand WEDA’s capacity, impact and serve as its lobbyist.  

Sara is a Cheyenne native who has 15 years of experience in communications and public relations, media, state policy and serving a variety of boards and commissions. She has worked in community-based programs, higher education as well as in state government. Sara’s background includes leading impactful statewide initiatives as well as advising and executing communications, digital marketing and public/government relations strategies. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English from the University of Wyoming.   Sara began work on Nov. 1 as part of The Align Team working under former director, Brittany Ashby, to serve WEDA. She is based in Cheyenne.  In the coming weeks, Sara will be:  
• Meeting with the WEDA Board and the Wyoming Business Council
• Connecting with local economic development associations and members
• Attending the Governor’s Business Forum and the Mid-American Economic Development Conference
• Working to develop legislative priorities for the 2023 session
